Is there a nursery near Romford Station?

Yes. Over The Rainbow Day Nursery is just 0.2 miles from Romford Main Line Station, less than a two-minute walk away. This makes our nursery particularly convenient for parents commuting into London.

What are your nursery opening hours?

Our normal opening hours are 8am–6pm, Monday to Friday. Extended hours can also be arranged for an additional charge, with options starting from 7:30am and finishing as late as 6:30pm.

Is the nursery open during the school holidays?

Yes. Over The Rainbow is open 52 weeks of the year, except for bank holidays.

Is Over The Rainbow an independent or family-run nursery?

Over The Rainbow is a family-run, Ofsted-registered day nursery. We opened in 2015 after previously caring for local children as a registered childminder. Our aim is to provide a home-from-home environment offering a middle ground between large corporate nurseries and smaller childminding settings.

Can parents park at the nursery?

Parking can be offered to parents on a first-come, first-served basis and must be arranged with the nursery. There is also a secure enclosed area where pushchairs and prams can be stored during the day.

How many children does Over The Rainbow care for?

Over The Rainbow provides childcare for up to 65 children each day, from three months through to school age.

Funded Childcare & Nursery Sessions

Do you offer funded childcare?

Yes. We can accept funded childcare subject to availability. Depending on eligibility and age, government-funded childcare can begin from the term after a child turns 9 months, 2 years or 3 years. Because we are not a term-time-only nursery, funding is stretched across 52 weeks.

For more information, please see our Funding Guide.

How do funded childcare hours work at Over The Rainbow?

Eligible children receiving 1,140 funded hours annually can have these stretched across the year, providing up to 21.92 funded hours per week. Different arrangements apply to some eligible two-year-olds and to the universal 15-hour entitlement from the term after a child's third birthday.

For full details, please see our Funded Childcare & Early Education Entitlement information.

Are there any additional charges when using funded childcare?

Yes. Fully funded sessions have additional charges for items that government funding does not cover, including freshly prepared food, consumables and extracurricular activities. Please see our Funding Guide for the current details and charges.

Do you offer full-day and half-day nursery sessions?

Yes. We offer full-day core hours as well as half-day sessions from 8am–1pm and 1pm–6pm. Please see our Schedule of Fees for further information.

Do you provide meals and snacks?

Can you cater for allergies and special dietary requirements?

How will I know what my child has been doing at nursery?
